Getting to Work with the Virginia Employment Commission

from:

The Virginia Employment Commission deals with all things employment related. Those looking for an organization that coordinates services for anything from job placement to transitional training services will find just what they are looking for. The Virginia Employment Commission, or VEC, uses partnerships, information sharing and innovative technologies to accomplish their mission of providing useful and ethical service to the citizens of the state of Virginia. Getting in contact with the organization can be as easy as going online to their website to see what valuable services are offered. One can find links to job opportunities or read the latest news in Virginia employment trends.

For those with questions about employment in Virginia, the Virginia Employment Commission website offers a list of frequently asked questions that cover a number of topics. One can find a complete explanation of the state of Virginia's employment guidelines. Forms for applying for an employer account number are available as are certification forms for establishing local youth councils. The site works to stay very informative and well rounded with newsletters, press releases and online town hall meetings. It is also where those suspecting unemployment fraud can anonymously phone in their tips as well. Because the site offers a place to scout for employment opportunities, those hosting job fairs are also welcome to advertise on the VEC website.

Links to important sources, such as those that show how to file a claim for unemployment insurance, can be found on the Virginia Employment Commission. Some, but not all of the publications, are offered in a PDF format. Using a zip code locator, citizens can also find their nearest VEC Field Office. These offices are open weekdays from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. Depending on their location, offices may be open part time or full time during the week. Using the interactive map one can directly identify the locations of full time and part time office.

The Virginia Employment Commission is just one of many services offered by the state of Virginia to its citizens. The website offers 24 hour information and allows users to access a number of helpful links. This includes those that lead back to the State of Virginia government website. Whether using the employer tax filing service or registering for the annual employment conference, the site is easy to navigate and understand. For those non English speaking individuals, the VEC website has a feature that allows it to be translated in to Spanish, German, French and Italian. Should further correspondence be required, the website provides a physical address and phone number.
